Default Opinion on Spoon race car theme paintjob

im selling my current itr i have now and am going to be picking up a tsx, and then am going to go what i always wanted and buy and it shell and build it from the ground up since im going to have a garage in my new house

now i was just browsing some pics and found pics of the spoon car that was at expo 3 that i was at, and pictures of wai's car when it was still spoons, and when its his

and iv always loved the way the car looks being blue and yellow, and all the graphics
so i was thinking maybe i could do that

me new itr will be almost strictly track car, but will be registered so i can drive it on the street

now my real question is whould i be a complete dork if i got this done, it whould be all vinyl no paint so it could be taken off, like whould it be gay since its not a real spoon car, but i remember this guy he might be on here, but hes on s2ki he had a spooned out s2000 with the full paint job for a while, but he changed it, and everybody liked his car so it got me thinking i could pull it off

I vote for paint if your going to do it. I plan on a lil something when my track ***** gets ready but not to crazy. I've always likes the way Wai's car looks but do you have the JDM or USDM front. I'm not sure if it would look right with the JDM either but again it's your car so do what makes you happy

i know its my car and i should do what i want
but nodody wants to look like a doochbag driving down the street
people that do stuff to there cars do it for there own enjoyment, but it always feels good
when somebody says damn thats a nice car youv got there, and if anybody denies that they like compliments is lyeing

and im not sure if it whould do paint since like people said its pretty crazy and i might get tired of it or want a change and that whould be an expensive change of mind if it was paint

and it whould be done on a jdm front end

Spoon paint schemes always remind me of the Renault (sp?) cars in the mid 90s BTCC...

I would do something more original....

Honestly be realistic, you either buy a street car and mess around with it, or you have a purposely built race car that isn't street driven. Yes it is cool to be rockin a race car on the street, but it gets annoying after awhile. If you plan on doing the spoon paint job, do paint, vinyl will fade and get trashed with rocks and normal road driving debris.

I agree with Dave_B about painting it instead of vinyl.

It could turn out nice, and I wouldn't see it as necessarily stupid for street use, but be aware of even more unwanted attention.

Personally if I were building an ITR from the shell up, I'd paint her Milano Red.

now that i look at more and more pics and think about it more, i dont think im going to do it, becuase i like to do things the right way and if i were to do it i whould have to paint it, and like i said before i think i whould grow tired of it, that alot of money to have the car painted spoon style then grow tired of it and have to paint it back, thats an expensive mistake to make

im just going to keep it all one color
now iv just got to decide on what that one color is

Motor speaks for itself, not the paint job =D
if your gonna go all out, you might as well have the motor to pull it off
and if you do, i'd say go for it

You know, he might be able to actually buy an old Spoon car for less than the fancy paint job's going to cost.

IMO, the Spoon blue/yellow paint scheme is their company trademark, so I wouldn't use it unless it originated from their company/shop. Other than that, do what you want with you car.
