Default why did my exhaust spit out black stuff?

I was driving my eg(with a gsr) and I was going about 50mph and this car next to me was messing around with me so I dropped it into second gear and black stuff came out of the exhaust. Is this bad? Could it be restricting my power? Or am i just a dumbass?

Was your car sitting for a extended period of time prior to this? Many times the condensation and carbon buildup in your exhaust will shoot out when you step on it like that.

Be thankful it wasn't white smoke = Possible head gasket

i posted this in another thread. it should hold true to you also:

" byproducts of combustion are hydrogen and oxygen. they make water. if you were running fat at one time, there may be some carbon built up in your exhaust. good combustion sometimes will cause water to come out of your tailpipe emmissions. this outgoing water sometimes grabs the carbon and takes it out the tail pipe. dont worry about it. my gear ratios are pretty long, would it still put to much stress on the car? I usually have till 70 in second.
