NEED HELP asap Ecu fuse blows and car dies all out of ideas
Its a 90 accord with an h22 and my ecu fuse keeps blowing. the only code i got was a vss so i cleaned the one i had did not work, i bought a new one still did not fix the problem. checked all grounds cleaned them even added a new ground from the trans to the frame just to be sure. fuse still blows! i do not think it is the alternator because when i drive it around my house and the fuse blows i put a 30 amp fuse in to get it home ( i know its a terrible idea but im not having it towed 100 feet). When the other fuse is in the car runs fine. I almost hope something melts when the 30 amp fuse is in just so i can find the problem (not really). I cleaned all the connectors in my car which did not fix the problem. Checked the O2 sensor all the wires are fine not shorting anywhere. What the hell else could it be? Its been about a month now and i am all out of ideas. Very very frustrated i need help! What else is connected to the ecu fuse (the 10 amp ecu back up fuse under the hood) i know speedsenors, 02 sensor, alt what else? Thanks for all the help.
I had this problem and it was my O2 sensor wires.... but you said you already checked that
nah nothing pulling a load, im gonna try driving with the o2 sensor disconnected tomorrow but i dont think it is that i checked resistance between c and d and it was 17 had to be between 10-40 i hate wire shorts this is driving me insane
hmm, where is the fuse located? is it the ECU injector in the under hood fuse box or is it the ECU TCM in the interior fuse box

im really not that in touch with generations earlier than my 5th, but i assume their pretty much the same.. it could be a couple things, you could try pulling most of the fuses out and checking to see if they are ok too, and one isnt causing it to overload and just pop everytime, if that doesnt work then there is a real electrical problem and you may have to go get it checked out at a shop
i would say to check ALL the fuses and make sure the right size fuse is installed in each. You never know maybe something stupid like your radiator fan is drawing too much power and because the fuse is too large its blowing other fuses.

Ive looked over the wiring harness countless times tried driving with out the O2 sensor then without the ect sensor. Blew two more fuses. The fuse only blows after i drive the car which is at most 20 ft before it blows. I can not disconnect everything and drive. i have voltage at the ect sensor(its 9.9v? not the 5v it should be) o2 sensor throttle angle sensor and the iacv. That is all i have been able to test but if i leave the car parked and start it it runs all day with the 10 amp fuse in so i have to be getting voltage to the injectors and the main relay. Can i take the ecu to a honda shop to have it tested or does it have to be in the car? When i drive the car i go about 10 feet turn left in the court then it blows. Really i was just hoping someone has had the same problem so i have something specific to look for.
if i were you id take it down to my nearest honda dealership or a mechanic to get it checked out, sounds like the only thing wrong is the wiring to the ECU fuse and as soon as you accelerate im guessing that is the time the fuse overloads
to poor to take it to a shop right now plus id rather suffer with it for awhile and get the experience working out electrical gremlins
you prolly need a resistor pack. the same EXACT thing was happening to my h22/civic until i installed a resistor pack. hasnt happened since and that was 3 years ago.
