Type-R struts. Are these good?! Look inside please!!
I saw this on a eBay auction for a cheap price and I was wondering if this was a good/real Type-R strut Bar...
Let me know what you think...

i have seen that strut bar on ebay as well and i am pretty sure that it is not a genuine type r strut bar. they do look pretty sturdy from the pictures though. remember that you get what you pay for.
I would imagine that a real honda box would say honda all over it...and wouldn't point out that its an original part
That bar says civic type-r on it. The real CTR strut bar is identical to the GSR, except its painted red. Its a fake. Plus honda boxes have part numbers on them, not descriptions as to what they are.

Unreal. Genuine Honda parts do NOT have Honda "all over it". My ITR rear strut bar (UKDM) came in a brown box with a little white Honda part number sticker on it like all Genuine Honda parts do.

I've seen a replica ITR bar and it looked exactly like the OEM bar, including the extruded aluminum bar w/ internal reinforcements (extremely strong). Not sure about that one, but it looks the same to me (you would have to look at the end of the aluminum part to be sure, though).
But, Integras through 2001 and Civics through 2000 did not have struts, so why would a Honda part say "strut tower bar" on it? For Hondas, it's a shock tower brace.

But, since you have it, I'd still use it. It looks sturdy and looks pretty nice too.
EDIT: My bad, I didn't read it correctly. You don't have it in your possesion yet. Well, in my opinion, if it's a good price, go for it. It doesn't look bad at all. However, if you're into the real pieces, look elsewhere cuz that's not the real one. Good luck.

I have to agree is not real. But **** Im 99% sure that you will not feel any diferences between the real one or the fake one. Just 4 looks if you asked me.
The replica (I have one btw) is not hollow but is solid. Quite heavy for an aluminum or whatever is made out of. But I dont really care.. Its quite sturdy. But if your car is a showcar please dont get it and buy urself a real one.. It sucks to see a nice show car with faux stuff.

the real bars have two rails inside making them way stiffer than that crappy copy
the shop around here pays like 25 bucks for those things , find it cheaper or get a good one

I have the Stock Strut Bar on my GS-R, but was wondering since it was so damn cheap. Screw it then, I won't bid on it. Thanks for the lookout folks!
strut bars are strut bars
just look for a solid design
that **** is just for looks.. if u something to improve handling.. look into the ITR rear sway bar
strut bars are useless for the integra
