Default No Dash Lights.

Background bought a 94 accord ex been pretty hacked up by the previous owner so who knows whats been done to it.

I don't have any dash lights when.

Brake lights work including the 3rd brake light.

From what ive been reading Ive found that the fuse for the interior lights is the same fuse for the brake lights?

I havn't checked the fuse yet but I was just wanting to get a procedure before I jumped into checking this tomorrow.

Detail:

Dash lights don't work when car lights are on:

Instrument Panel
Hvac controls

If it comes down to it I will hardwire all the interor lights but thats a pain and hassle and I wouldn't look forward to doing it.

Thanks
-Dan

I have the exact same problem with my '92 Accord. My fuses are all good so I think (and hope) it's a bad dimmer switch.

One side note, do your glove box and visor mirror lights work at night? If not, it's probably not the dimmer switch (b/c the dimmer switch doesn't affect those ones).

Good luck solving the problem.

yeah i would check the fuses first. there is also what is called a "small light" fuse under the hood. i would check that one too. i have seen the dash lights not work and this be the fuse that is the problem. hope this helps. good luck

I checked all fuses and checked to make sure every light worked. Had to fix some minor license plate lights in the back but nothing fixed it. I either thought the interior light relay was bad or the dimmer it self was bad. So i went to check the voltage output out of the dimmer and I found that the plug wasn't even plugged into the dimmer.

But its fixed now

That could do it lol. I'm swapping a new dimmer switch in for mine soon so hopefully that'll get mine working again. My courtesy light and power window in the passenger door weren't working b/c they weren't plugged in either lol.
