Default No tail lights, running lights, dash lights, etc...

Okay so I've had this problem for a while.
92 civic ex
First of all, here are the problems:
>No tail lights, running lights, dash lights, (all fuse 19)
>Right window won't work
Brake lights are fine, blinkers work, and so do high beams.
I've replaced and checked every fuse multiple times. EVERY FUSE.
No loose grounds that I can find.
left bulb itself is fine.
I'm mainly wanting to get my tail light system working before the rest, so I can drive legally at night.

I have a 12v check light that shows the power to the combination switch for fuse system 19 is working.
I have a spare fuse box I got from Pick N Pull today if you think I should replace this.
I'm desperate, willing to wire up my tail lights straight to the battery if possible.

Update: There is no power going to the dimmer switch from 19
-------------------
Shift level position indicator is working fine, if that's any clue

Car? 92-95 Civic?

This^ test tells you nothing about 10A fuse 19 because it is downstream of the combination switch in the light circuit.

Your collective observations suggest that fuse 19 is blown. Voltage test it with the light switch ON as described at the Fuses link in my signature.

Blown fuse or bulb.

Sorry. 92 civic ex.
Fuse 19 is fine. It was one of the first things I checked, replaced, and continue to do daily.
Left bulb is fine, tested it in the right socket, so it the fuse for left low beam
Automatic windows. Fuse is fine also.

-----
Also, yes I know the fuse 19 is down farther in the circuit, but starts from the combination switch as a red/green wire. That wire is getting power to it, and to the fuse box. Fuse 19 has no power in the box, and nothing after the fuse box works from 19. Doesn't this mean 19's problem is somewhere in the fuse box itself? Bad terminals maybe?

You need to consider that fuse 19 may blow immediately after installing a new fuse.

This^ only tells you that the combination switch gets voltage from the hood fuse box.

It means that you need to know whether fuse 19 is blown. Voltage test it as described at the Fuses link in my signature. Do the test with the light switch in the parking lights position.

Voltage test this specific fuse as well.

Automatic windows. Fuse is fine also.
Run power and ground wires from the battery directly to the window motor. Does the glass now move. Reverse the wire polarity to reverse the direction (up versus down).

-I thought they could be blowing immediately, but the fuses themselves are fine. I even put them in other spots to confirm this.

-voltage tested it, nothing. Moved the same fuse to another one, and it lit up. The fuse in the spot is not blown, but I did voltage test the left headlight like in your sig, and replaced that which fixed my headlight problem

Fuse 19, right? Did you do the test with the light switch turned on to parking lights and to headlights?

Also, if it helps, I just remembered that the FIRST time I replaced fuse 19, trying to fix it, there wasn't a fuse there. There was a wire with fuse ends soldered on to it in fuse 19

This^ tells you that fuse 19 does not get voltage from the hood fuse box via the light switch.

Test the light switch - the parking lights terminals (D-E) inside the switch may be bad.

I hope that's gone now. That's a fire hazard.

I just put in a new combination switch about a week ago to try to fix it. It changed nothing. And yeah, that's gone. But the terminals for 19 don't look as "healthy" as all the other ones.

Okay. This^ pinpoints the problem to one of two possibilities.

1) The Red/Grn wire that runs from the light switch to the dash fuse box is broken. Continuity test the wire between these two points.

2) The dash fuse box is bad. Continuity test between the Red/Grn wire terminal at the fuse box and the fuse 19 socket (try both sides). This may turn out to be the problem based on the fuse 19 socket damage.

I'm a complete newbie. How do I check those? put the light in the terminals of the harnesses? The only terminal that gave me a light were I and F. There aren't metal terminals or wires in slots J and G

And how would I find the red/grn wire terminal in the fuse box?

Disconnect battery. Remove dash fuse 19.

Unplug combination switch connector and dash fuse box connector containing the Red/Grn wire terminal.

Set multimeter to measure continuity.

Touch one meter probe on Red/Grn wire terminal in combination switch connector and the other meter probe on the Red/Grn wire terminal in the dash fuse box connector.

Do same type of continuity test between Red/Grn wire terminal of dash fuse box and each terminal of the fuse 19 socket.

The component that lacks continuity is the problem and needs to be replaced/repaired.

I don't have a multimeter. Nobody I know has one I can borrow either. I have a 12v test light, is there any other way to test continuity?

You can buy a digital multimeter for $4 at harbor Freight Tools.

Also check at Walmart.

Must go to bed.

I would, but its midnight and I can't really drive my car at night.
I also have a small fuse tester that works to test continuity of a wire, technically. Any way I can diy- it tonight?
Anyway, if you're off to bed, thanks so much! I guess it does narrow down to those problems. Thanks for all the help

Alright, so I just rigged up a continuity tester by putting some spare wires in each spot and touching them to the fuse test light. There is continuity. So that means that my fuse box is bad?

I replaced the fuse box and it works perfectly!

My window still doesn't work, but I'll look into that on my own.
Just thought I'd add closure to anyone who may have a similar project.
Months of searching and nobody had the same problem as me online.

Hey, not sure if you still use this forum, but I had same issue with fuse 19 in a 94 JDM del sol vxi. I.tested everything hoping it wasn't fuse box and it turns out it is. I think there must have been a faulty batch of fuse boxes that slipped through QC. Got new(used) fuse box on way, hoping that it has the same positive result as you.

hey, I’m not sure if you’re still using this forum. I was wondering which fuse box you replaced? The one in underneath inside the cab or the one under the hood? Thank you
