My friend just had a Kicker 12" SOLO baric L5 (2 ohm I think) installed on his Integra with a Kicker 5 channel amp to power the sub as well as his MB Quart PSD 216 component speakers...and all I can say is.....Holy ****

That square 12" sub has mad power I tell ya! I compared it with another friend's who has two JL 12W3's and to be honest, I couldn't really tell that much of a difference between the two.

Anyone have anything bad to say about these solo barics before I purchase mine? I'm torn between the JL W3's and the solo barics. Any input would be great. thanx.

although i dont have the newer model square L7 ones.. i did have the older (97 or so model) round Kicker 12" Solobaric and it was a really good sub... my friend has 2 - 10's in his mustang and he liked my 12" solobaric bettah.. i put in JL 12W6's not too long ago = P..

 

They are incredible subs for the money!! I have a L7 15 powered by a 800.2 and it rattles your insides, incredible bass!

 

opt for the L7. you'll love the more power handling coils.

 

solo baric's are one of the best made

 

I have something bad to say about em . . . They're square. Subs aren't supposed to be square, they're supposed to be round.

Personally I'm not a big fan of square subs myself but for that mad power I'm willing to accept it. After all, it's not like I'm going to be looking inside the trunk everyday or or something.

 

Stop caling them Solar Barics because they are SOLO-BARICS!

Solo-barics are excellent subs. Just remember 2 things with them. They do not take well to being underpowered, and they require a "EXTREMELY" well sealed box to last any length of time...
