First thing I'd have to say is it's a somewhat rare bird
First thing I'd have to ask is; Whats wrong with it?
First thing I'd suggest is what Vt4cpwn35 mentioned: a Kellys' Blue Book inquiry.

It will give you some idea what it's resale value comes out as.

This site should be your god when buying a car. But take other factors into consideration too.

KBB has that car at about 3800 for fair condition and 4400 for good.

For 2k you are getting it for a steal but I would guess that it needs some mantience. I have not had any experience with that V6 but I have a feeling it is not a reliable as the f22's.

Manual or Auto? I would say $2000 is a decent price, if everything is in good condition.

I'm pretty sure the only V6's that have sticks are the new 6 speeds.

For the 1996 LX V6 application, Honda shows both the 5spd KA5MT (Federal Emissions 5spd Manual trans) along with the KA4AT (Federal Emissions 4spd Auto) listing in it's parts manual.

I guess you could have it both ways

I have never seen a V6 manual for 5th gen. Honda's part site will allow you to choose 5mt parts for V6 but upon closer inspection they are for the 4cyl car
