I know Rota's are real popular especially with the ITR track crowd for the weight savings and price, but be sure to check all your spokes thoroughly at the track

it's one of the reasons why i think the slipstreams would make a better track tire. fat spokes!

True that. I vouch for the slipstreams. Sometimes trying to be to light might not be able to take the force that you need for the track. Wow, I would be pissed if that happened to me. Different rims for different purposes.

what qualifies you to 'vouch' for them? that's a big responsibility... you going to refund someone when something *does* happen to a slipstream?

being light has nothing to do with this. when have you seen a light/forged wheel do this? (and rotas are not forged) "lightweight" cast wheels less weight with smaller spokes may have this problem. and it seems that rota has had 'bad runs' before with certain wheels. that doesn't mean it won't happen to any other wheel, but i think people are more confident (rightfully so) with a forged wheel.

force required? more like extreme temp change on the wheel over and over again, the strength of the material and design, and its ability to deal with these extreme temperatures over and over.

chris - who does not like when people throw around some kind of self-certification that a product is 'good enough' or capable of certain things just because nothing bad has happened to them yet.

Good thing us ITR owners need not worry about C8's, as they are only available in 4 lug.

Wheels are wear items on track cars. Forged or not. Clean and Inspect them regularly for cracks.

You mean to the wheel or to the car? Both?

I would imagine getting a replacement wheel would be no prob to prevent threads like these...but fixing the car too, that would be a bold company move. Id be impressed.

I wonder if there is some kind of warranty issues here? Maybe improper casting?

On track there are no warranties on anything. Its up to the driver to make sure his equipment is up to the task at all times

I've seen rota replace wheels before when they've failed, but I wouldt expect them to.
