h22 engine mount options? (in a prelude)
had a customer bring me a car that another shop did some work on that he wasnt happy with. they made him an oil return line, a downpipe, and a front engine mount.
the downpipe was mig welded on the car and was 1 peice (the entire exhaust from the dp flange to the tailpipe...so it was obviously impossible to remove.
the oil drain was completely kinked and there was no way any oil was flowing through it.
the front engine mount was bolted to the slave cylinder, and ripped the threads out of one of the holes and completely broke off a chunk of the case to go along with it.
the manifold thats on this car doesnt alow for any kind of a front mount at all. so it looks like he is going to have to rely on just 3 engine mounts. i can't seem to find any mount kids available for a h22 in a prelude. find them all day long for a civic though.
does anybody have any suggestions on how 2 make 3 mounts work on an h22. its really scary, i dont like the idea at all. going to put the car on the lift and see if i can creatively come up with a good way to make a front mount with the space provided (which is none)
thanks in advance

gotta have a front mount man, even with a solid rear the motor will pivot on the rear bolt and still move alot. I had a prelude last week with the same situation, another shop installed the turbo kit and told him the mount wouldn't fit and that he didn't need it. Well, when we were on the dyno and he saw how much the motor was moving he belived me that he needed it. A little trimming here and there and it fit.
spent all day on it and came up with a mount i think its going to work pretty good. still looking for a set of good mounts to releive some of the stress off of it anyways.
