i am trying to cut my hood
Cut off wheel works best. You got to be careful with it. After its cut... pry it loose (cause its seam sealed on there) with a flathead. Still got to be careful or you will dent your hood quick.
What engine are you installing.....3 flat washers between the left engine mount halves will let a B16 or a DOHC ZC without interfearance. Or cutting the hood....just an FYI

What engine are you putting in there?
I just put in a B20 into my '88 CRX and the hood closes fine. I removed the under hood webbing just cause I didn't like how it looked so I can't say if it would have made any difference if I left it on there.

i am put the b18c engine in there with the hasport motor mounts and there is no clearance so i kinda see where the hood is not clearing near the lower right corner of the valve cover.
if you're gonna cut it, use a jig saw, and be sure to have a buddy there to keep the hood from shaking. this works the best, no doubt about it. i used one to cut a hole in the roof for a sunroof, after my dad took a cutting wheel to it and caught my seat covers on fire from the sparks. and he wanted me to pay him to do it. what an ***. jig sawe, and masking tape where you're going to cut, no scratches.
I have seen people notch out the inner skeleton of the hood for additional clearance, but im not clear weather you want to cut a literal hole in the hood or just the under side part..

Weird... my DOHC ZC in my 91 EX fits like it belongs in there and it still has the JDM power steering pump which all still works. My first ZC in my 91 LX didn't go in so well... I had to remove the power steering all together.

why weaken your hood when two stacks of 3 flatwashers will cure your problem?

cut my stock hood skeleton with my dye grinder at work. Took all of about 30 seconds. I just cut out the part that contacted the front corner of the valve cover when closing. Luckily, my cf hood doesn't make contact at all, the webbing is also offset some compared to stock. I would probably just try the washer trick, that has got to be pretty simple as well.

You can use washers on both sides to lower the motor. Why would you cut your car? Poor Car!!! Use washers to drop the motor a bit and you will be fine. Geez!!</TD></TR></TABLE>
Or you can use a cupple of washer on the actuall hood hinges it might not sit right but you dont have to cut your hood. Just save and get the sir cf one that what i have and it clears everything fine.
