tranny?

Default tranny?

i have a b16 civic hatch and everytime i drive it, every gear i put it in has so much play in it, meaning when i put it in first or any gear it still feels like nuetral,
what does this mean? I'm thinkin bushings? or may be a tranny problem?

Could be the bushings. What kind of shift linkage are you using?

i would bet its a shift linkage bushing or your shift linkage.

what should i be lookin for? old busted bushings? how do i know its the shift linkage?

I got the same problem. I think its the bushings because i just changed the linkage. Im gonna go with the energy suspension urethanes. I have heard great things.

If the bushings are old, cracked, or just worn out, then your shifter will feel real sloppy. If the shift linkage is the culprit, you may have a hard time getting it to go into gear or the shift pattern will be off.

yeah if you got some do-it-yourself shiftlinkage, there might be welds that would run around the circumference of the linkage, but near the shifter i believe. the end links are obviously welded on, but what you should look for are welds that are in the middle of the shaft of the linkage itself.
