Default Shifting Issues

Ok, so I just put on my type R tranny and I noticed there was a rip in the bushing of the shift linkage. Now i dont know if this will cause the issue or not but when i shift from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th it doesnt feel centered like it used to. When I shift I have to move it a hair more to the right (.25 - .50 of an inch). could this be from the shift linkage?

A weak and/or damaged bushing will surely make it feel as if the shifter wobbles and isnt on center.

my bro had a destroyed linkage, you couldn't feel the gears...it was like shifting a shovel in a sand bucket. New linkage fixed that.
