Default Skunk2 Type 2 Cams.

Anyone know anything about them? Are they good reliable cams, anyproblems like breaking or snapping the timing belt? What about smog? Thanks...

Ecellent cams! We just put a set in my friends car & hit 192/130 (up from 184/125 on crower 403's). I have the stage 1 cams(for about 5 mo.)and I love them. I've had no reliability problems and the hp curve is sick beyond VTEC! I haven't dyno'd yet but, my car weighs 2,500 lbs. even w/out me, and I went 14.4 at 98mph with full interior, AC, PS, 205/40/17 at 32 psi, spare tie and jack! (I shattered my driveshaft that night BTW!) Good Luck!

Wow... Good numbers!!! I know that the Type 1 cams are great, but I'm interested in the Type 2. I heard that high lift cams can increase the wear and tear on the valve train, plus I heard about timing belts snapping... Just wondering if I should be concerned when I get them. or would Type 1 be better? (Daily driven / race car) Thanks...

if it is a daily driver and a race car, then type 2 would be more applicable.

I haven't dyno'd yet, but everyone seems to think my torque is sick! Check out what the Skunk2 stage 1's did at the track (3rd pass - on take-off).....

wow.. scary pics!

about the Type 2s though. Importbuilder Jeff says that those cams have the exact same characteristics as the JUN Type 3s. so HP should be the same/similar with either cam.
