Default has anybody heard this noise from their car? (video)

A short video from autocross today, lost it in the first turn and the car made a really strange noise and the motor stalled. Anybody heard it before or know what it was? http://www.billreynoldsracing....e.wmv

WHOA! WTF was that?

Push in your clutch when you're going backwards. That's what your motor is telling you.

A motor COULDN't fire turning backwards, could it?

When you do push in the clutch, I don't see how it could be turning forward, because your front wheels appear to be going backwards.

It looks to me like you push the clutch in between 0:09 and 0:10, maybe 0:09.7 or so. The car lurches right before the noise starts.

Does that sound right? That's all I can figure that lurch is, and it lines up with the weird sound.

I dont see how any lurch is possible without the clutch being engaged. Seems to me, either the clutch was pressed in right before the lurch or it was let out right before the lurch.
If thats the case, you're lucky it still runs.
