Coolant leak.. from top of radiator it looks like.
has anyone ever had their radiator just start leaking from the seal around the top? I think it has only started happening very recently. I had put on a Spoon sports radiator cap which 1.35 compression instead of the stock 1.1 but hadn't had any problems with it until recently when I had my new IM and fuel delivery parts installed by the dealership. They had refilled the resevoir up double the height of the max line when I checked after the install. I didn't notice any seepage then but when I had my wheels installed today they mentioned it and then when I went out and checked after I'd been home for about an hour there were two large pools of coolant under the car. so I looked at the radiator and it appears that coolant is leaking out all around the top, not just in one spot. I've switched back to the stock cap to allow the coolant to vent to the resevoir sooner but I'd like to know if my radiator is damaged, and what caused this.
the shop that did the IM install, a dealership no less, left a foot long wrench in the engine bay and also didn't attach the vacuum hose to the top of the TB. speaking of which anyone know the function of that hose. It connects to the TB right below the Mass air sensor.
I was planning on purchasing a new radiator at some point anyway but its pretty low at my list, unless of course I have to fix it...

My 94 looks like it is leaking the same way. I just noticed it the other day, so I have not really looked at it all that closly. I guess I gotta buy a Fluidyne for the race car and put the OE radiator in the LS. :/
looks like I'm going to be buying the same thing... it's just f'ed at this point, I took it out for a short drive and checked the radiator when I got back and its leaking out all over. there gor the neighborhood animals...
is fluidyne the replacement you'd suggest?

That is qite common on this type of radiator. Had the same problem with my 94 GSR about a month ago. Found an OEM radiator with low miles for $100. Didn't want to spend too much on an aftermarket one.
Fluidyne is an all aluminum radiator that costs $400. Good for a race car, but overkill for street. Plus you can't use the stock condensor fan with it. I would just find alow milage used OE unit for cheap.
well long term I'm building it up for racing use so I may see if it will be worth going with the fluidyne. I'm planning on picking up an FAL replacement fan as well so that should be able to fit with the new radiator... One would think. Aren't the fluidyne's supposed to be an exact match with the OEM fittings?
