i bought this exhaust on ebay for my 92 hatch and the muffler sticks out too far.

i think it might be meant for a coupe, how big of a difference is there between hatch and coupe exhausts?

 

For one, what exhaust, you posted no picture and no link.

For two, if you mean cat backs designed for the car, they are the same for 2 door coupe and hatch.

 

Well for 92-95's the Coupes and Hatchs have different exhausts, same all the way out till the muffler, on a hatch the distance from the LCA to the end of the bumper is shorter than on a coupe. Most likely your exhaust is for a coupe if it stick out to far, if you have a welder shorten the pipe, if not sell it and buy another one.

i think its best if you take it to a muffler shop and have them shorten it. Thats weird because i have a integra muffler on my hatch before and it didnt stick out at all.

 

thanks guys, i wasn't sure if the difference between the two was in the intermediate pipe or in the muffler itself.

 

Huh, learn something new every day, I thought the rear section was the same on coupe and hatch.
