Default Toda Spec B's dyno, I think there is still more power potential to be unleashed

This is the dyno plot from today's dyno tuning. This car has the mods listed in signature below, The old dyno plot UNTUNED and excluded the Toda B's, cam gears, spoonsports headgasket, VAFC, and skunk2 ecu and peaked at 158.7WHP. The higher, 175.5 WHP is after the installation of the Toda, spoon, and electronic upgrades and W/ DYNOTUNING. I ONLY gained 17whp! These upgrades along w/ 90k mile maintenance cost me $4000!. The Toda's as I see it peaked at ~7600rpm. I just feel there could be more power potential to be found from better tuning, it was tuned in under 1hr, and I payed $200 for tuning. I thought the Toda's peaked near 8200...I need info and suggestions. I'm not saying 175whp is bad, but 17whp in my eyes was not worth the money.

damn that's a lot for tuning and the labor...Topspeed is doing all my stuff for 4000 grand too
but that includes new rods, bearings, timing belt, jun3 cams, valvetrain, and installation on all that plus porting and polished the head and putting in 81.5mm endyn pistons can't wait to dyno those babies

Ah, you're making me feel worse, $4000 for all of that, you got a hell of a deal. I was hoping for 185WHP, 180 would be justified, but 175 just isn't cutting it( I mean 17hp gain...I'm realing wanting to know if you guys think they could do a better tuning job on this car. I mean Toda's Peaking at 7600? I mean I have 10.4:1 compression but my F*cking stock cams peaked higher than that!

Stock Compression with 27 thou off the head? hehe. You also have higher compression stock, since this is a B18C1.

Apexi Power FC!!!!

The dyno print outs I've seen look alot different to ours. I don't know how they calculate yours but do you guys when on a dyno run load?

I know we run 50 load and we normally do everything in 4th gear. Is that the same as you guys?

Why would I use the power fc, if I have the apexi V-AFC?

Ability to adjust fuel settings at more points (throttle and rpm related), timing, redline, idle and so on...
Or a Hondata...

http://victorylibrary.com/tech/cam-c.htm

expect to spend some more for the package: bigger fuel injectors (everyone's cure here), FPR, get rid of the exhaust for a 2.5-2.75 in. one, VTEC to 7000 rpm, and yes....more cooooommmmmpressssion.

what were your air fuel ratios?

can you post an SAE corrected chart? STD #'s are sometimes even higher than uncorrected. Sorry to disappoint you but you may be mid 160's if it was SAE corrected.

II had a customer with a stock ITR, Toda header, 94006 cat and Tanabe RM go from 168 to 172whp and a 3-4 hp jump over the whole range just when we got rid of the 2" OD x 2" long bottle neck in the Tanabe B pipe.

closer to 200whp Pinhead, seen the same setup built by topspeed before

mike why waste the money on toda pistons, nothing against them they are good, but realistically, and you should have milled your head a couple thousandths

anyway, you have to be kidding me with the whole 170 thing, i hit 182 with skunk 2 cams and port and polish with vafc tuning.and stock bottom end, you have hondata, you better hit 185whp or above or you need slapped

Toda sucks, you should have gone with the new Skunk 2 Stage 6 cams....

Peak power is all that matters!!!!!

Hehe,

There is more work to be done here, but you gained 17 HP PEAK. Look at the graph man, you gained just about everywhere. That's a lot better than gaining some peak HP, AREA UNDER THE CURVE

Good luck,
