Default crossover question.

I have a set of MB quart components in my teg and I have them hooked to a JL crossover. but I also kept the MB quart "tweeter protecter" thing (witch i guess is just a resistor) but it is really flakey and is causing signal to go in a out. do i really need it? or can I just use the JL crossover?

"tweeter protecter" is just a capacitor = 6dB/Octave HP filter. Get rid of it

Correction:
can also be a 12 db/Octave HP filter if there's also a coil in it. Loose it anyway

Thanks guys. Was worried that since this isn't a audio tech website there wouldn't be any people wise to audio here. Thanks again.
