When I painted my car, I had half gallon of black with half gallon of thinner.
I dunno how much clear though, since I didn't use any.

I was planning on repainting my the next year so it didn't really matter.

So one gallon is enough to do the outside of the car, or u need more if u want to paint door jambs, inner trunk, etc?

1 gallon is plenty for that car ... i used a gallon painting a 93 mazda 626 including painting the insides of the doors and the door jams .... and still had a pint of paint left ... so 1 gallon is enough ... and get 1 gallon of clear is perfect paint a extra coat of it on so you can color sand the paint and not worry about sanding through the clear
