I have a 96 Accord DX with 136000 miles on it. Recently at times, when the car is idle (usu. sitting at a red light) and I press on the gas to get going, the engine will inadvertedly stall. It sputters before it dies, like it just lost power or gas all of a sudden. I am able to start the car right afterwards, but this shouldn't ever happen in the first place. I'm wondering if the fuel injectors are clogged or maybe it's due for a tuneup. I thought at first maybe I was too light on the pedal, but recently, I slowed down at a toll and it was about to stall. I pressed hard on the gas pedal, and depite it not stalling, it was really sputtering hard and felt like the engine was gonna konk out again. Not sure if this is relevant or not, but it tends to occur more often when my engine is cold during the morning commute.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to the cause?
