I see all these super clean looking hatches. anybody got advice to make mine look real clean? i have already thought about:
1) painting trim (duplicolor trim paint)
2) wash & wax (duh)
3) some sort of window cleaner to get off the water spots + dirt film
4) gunk for the engine bay

what sort of cleaners do you guys use? any advice for makin it look bling?

 

Simple green is always a good cleaner to have. It's also the color of the hulk.

 

Polished and then wax'd. Armorall on all the plastic trim. Windex and newspaper for the windows.


(engine bay is kinda dirty, just got back from the track and hadnt cleaned it yet.)

As for the engine bay, spray the entire thing down with water and soap and try and get all the main dirt out, and then go back with simple green, paper towels, brushes, etc. and try and get all the dirt that stuck to the paint. Then polish and wax the engine bay. Brake cleaner works really well for the engine. Tire foam for the radiator hoses.

For anybody who's used it, does the duplicolor trim paint actually look good? Is it a pretty good match for stock paint?

word. and the trim paint really works well. did my friends moldings and looks as close as stock as you can get.

 

cool i guess. kinda weird, lol. but hell if it works...
some of like the rubber on my hatch (like around the windoows and stuff.) is kinda messy looking and a little dirty no matter wut i do to it. any suggestions?

 

thanx for da tips guys. no the topic of debadging. are there any emblems i can take off w/out haveing to bondo it?

 

you could take off about all them but the H ... i agree the trim paint looks just like stock

 

so if i take them all off except the H how do i go about doing it? i don't wanna *** up da paint. (i wanna keep my stock paint) how do i get it off + then how do i clean it up?

 

First see if you can pry it off. If not, get a peice of fishing line and skim it between the paint and the sticker. Then if there is any left over goo, get Goo-off or any kind of laquer thinner and just use that, then wax afterwords because it will take all the wax off it.
