Look what i pulled off an ef in the junkyard
I found a 89 Civic Ex in the local junkyard, with a complete front disk swap. I couldn't just leave it on their to be crushed. Maybe they might find a home on my crx, or on ebay.

EX Calipers Compared To HF Calipers

One of the studs is snapped, but i have spare studs off my old hf hub assembly that I can use. I'm not sure what i want to do with this setup yet, because I *Just* picked up a set of brembo blanks for a dx and installed them on my crx. Tell me what you think. Comments, negative and positive, are welcome.

The Civic EX wasn't availible until 1990. But good find, sitting them next to the HF calipers is hilarious. It's a wonder those poor cars stopped at all!

I remember it said 89 on the stamp in the door. It was a four door civic ex, and not a hatch if that's what your referring to. It's crazy comparing size difference between the two. The ex caliper is monstrous.
That's what I mean, there was no Civic EX until 1990. There was never an EX hatch, it was only the sedan. And the sticker on the door shows the manufacturing date, not the model year of the car. The emissions sticker under the hood tells you what the model year is.

how much are they charging for this over in PA?
btw, you could have gotten the brake booster, its 9" over 8" stock. i would have left the master cylinder tho, its bigger but i dont trust junkyard parts for master cylinder.

I paid $100 at first because it had the axles, rotors, & lca's and i took all that off at home with the impact gun, and returned it for credit the next day. So just for the spindles, & calipers I paid $22

Correct! So maybe it was just sold in late 89 as the new model 1990 Civic?

89 could have also been the production year, late in 89 perhaps.
wow thats a huge difference, never thought it was that big...

Right, that's how it always goes. We had 2004 Volvos at the dealer in February of 2003 at one point...
Just like if I said I have a 2005 Civic Si, and you would say I'm a tard for buying a fugly car like that. But I would say no no, it's really a 2006.

HF has smaller calipers then say si/dx? I thought they were all the same. You can't swap the hf calipers with say a si/dx with a b-series swap can you.
