Hah. You see, the thing about that map is that it doesn't show any of the blue stuff. There is a LOT of blue stuff out there. Blind turns all over the place because of all the armco.
Don't end up buying any of it. It is some very expensive ****. Besides, Carolina Blue doesn't go well with most paint schemes

If I make it I will be out instructing for TracQuest. http://www.tracquest.com
not the cheapest but lots of QUALITY seat time.

The Glen is still my favorite track, even more than VIR. The elevation changes are just amazing at that track. I usually race there twice a year with EMRA, and try to do a driver's ed there for at least one weekend a year. Too bad it doesn't open for the season until May. *sigh*

The Glen Rules! Hands down my favorite track (and I travel far and wide). VIR, Mid O, Summit, Mosport, Pocono, Jefferson, Nazareth, Limerock are all fun/good etc, but the Glen is my #1.
Warren is right; there is not much room for error. That is what makes it fun/challenging. When you are turning fast laps at the Glen you can FEEL it all the way from your hair follicles on your head to the tips of your toes. Last year with EMRA I had the best race of my life against a 260Z and an SE-R. It went back and forth for the whole race between the three of us... when I came in I was so wiped I had to sit in the car for a minute or two before I got out... When you race at the Glen you RACE; you can (or at least I can) hear/feel the spirits of the long ago racers who ran cars with little/no brakes; no safety sh@# at all. Those guys were men!!!
I usually spend 12-15+ days at the Glen each year. its still not enough. I want to get my Civic down into the sub 2:20 range for the full course (2:24.2 best so far). My Lotus Super Seven circulates the full course low 2:15s (no braking for the bus stop; just lift off and "breathe" the throttle a little and then back down to the wood until the ankle turn!)
Can't WAIT until the first Glen event this year! for you guys who want to try it out; I will be with PDA, Riesentoter PCA, Allegeny PCA, EMRA this year....
later,
Todd

cool. sounds great! where can I see some full lap in cars?
NASACHRIS has a bunch of great WGI in-car from his E-Prod RX-7, although I don't know if any of is has been digitized/posted. Email or IM him for details.
There also is/was a video for sale called "Driving Watkins Glen" or something similar. I believe I saw this in the Driving Impressions stores (VIR, SP, LimeRock).
Hope that helps,
Jon
