Default concerned with b18b deck height!!!

I want to put p30 pistons in my jdm b18b to raise compression!! I've looked up the toping and I know that a machine shop can press the p30's with my stock rods and that my compression will go up....but want I dont' know, since the deck height of a b16a2 and a b18b are different, is if I will run into a clearence problems????

Need help and backed up info please!!

Thanks!

Pat

There are guys using CTR pistons with your setup and no problems, except they have mad compression. P30's are used all the time in the LS engines, and if your that worried, use PR3's, they are 10.8 compression compared to the 11.0 of P30's.

Read about a few sweet B18A/B setups.

yes. using pistons from a VTEC motor will yeild lots of piston-to-valve clearance because the LS has smaller valves by 2mm intake, 3mm exhaust (i think those are the numbers). so since it has smaller valves, and knowing a little trigonometry, you'll find that that couple mm of smaller valve head radius translates into more space for high-lift cams than most motors will ever see, even with the slightly lower deck delta of B16 engines.
