Default How much will a auto to manual swap cost?

So I'm just now beginning to collect parts for my auto to manual swap in my 91 crx dx, and so far I've only bought a new PM5 for the thing (I figured I'd get it first and see if I could dig up any information to chip it for gas mileage beforehand). In any case, I'm trying to figure out my budget for how much I will end up spending on everything that I need so I know how much work I need to hound up and how many pennies I need to pinch, and I was hoping that people who have done this would chime in with how much the whole thing cost them. That would be wonderful. By the way, I'm going with the HF tranny. I'm also wondering how cheaply I can get an 8pound flywheel, because that would be nice but not totally necessary since money definately a huge factor. And, I think that's it. Thanks a lot people.

Don't know what the cost is but there's a decent write up on rywire.com

Yeah, I plan on using the rywire and the 4thgencivic.net write ups to do it. Plus there is one really comprehensive one on the pedals I can't remember the link for offhand.

Eeek, is that for a shop to do it? I know I can get all the parts for less than 400, I'm just wondering what people usually get when they do it. The one expensive thing I'm thinking about is a lightened flywheel because of the whole less rotating mass being less work on the engine, and I want crap to increase mpg or increase horespower without lowering mpg. ;-)

So far I'm 21 bucks in:

- PM5 ecu (I hope it's manual, still in the mail): 6 bucks shipped
- Pedal Assembly: 15 bucks shipped (bought it with a brake booster and master cylinder, so saved on shipping)

I will be picking up a hf tranny for 20 bucks from carbed_rex, but I'm in the college application season so I dunno when for sure, hopefully once I finish my single-choice early action stuff, ;-)

Haha, you're lovely. carbed_rex also has a 91 crx hf he swapped so that's where the tranny is coming from, :-) And the 88 tranny doesn't work, I forget why, but simateoako has already bought an hf tranny for his b2 and he told me he learned this.
