front brakes grind/drag under slow speeds/soft braking.
im having the problem mentioned above. i did a little searching and came up with what sounds exactly like my problem.
-If your caliper pins dont slide freely it will cause brake drag. The pads will overheat and crystalize and you will get an inconsistent grinding sound. You should be able to see grooves into the rotor if this happens.
Now my question is, should checking out and making sure theyre in right/possibly replacing the caliper pin fix my problems or am im probably looking at having to replace the front calipers?
i also dont know **** about brakes really so is checking out the pins relatively easy or should i just take the car in?
thanks.

i mean u really dont need to change ur caliper unless its stuck. if it does not slide in and out or if it slides out but does not slide, then its stuck. In this case, u need a new caliper. However, if the pin is not fully lubricated and does not slide in and out, then u might want to consider replacing that. From my past experience, if the pin is not working properly, the break pads or brake rotor will not wear out evenly or sometimes can cause dragging because it does not go in and out. Try to take the pin out and put some high temp wheel bearing grease to it and see it that will help, if not then get a new pin
nah deff not the wear indicators. relatively new pads and rotors. did a little checking out today and the front inside pads are grinding into the rotors and making grooves in em. i think i should just take this **** into a brake mechanic.
already took things apart and inspected the pads/pins/rotors. the inside pads had a ridge on em that is obviously whats grinding into the rotor and leaving a groove in it. ive already sanded down the pad before and yesterday the ridge was back. so something isnt functioning properly and im assuming its the caliper. i dunno. cars suck.

get new pads and rotors(like 150bucks) if the pins all slide nicely.
If you sanded the pads flat, but put them back on an already grooved rotor... then its just going to conform to the groove immediately.
Or get some powerslots (4 for $150) and some Wagner Thermoquiet pad (4sets for $60)... BREAK THE ROTORS IN PROPERLY as stated by powerslot or you will call them cheap crap like everyone except me, and you should have a great budget break system... no grinding, squeeking, or need to warm them or anything.
Working great on my car and it sees alot of abuse.

i dont really have the budget to buy new rotors and pads being that i just bought rotors and pads for all corners earlier this year. now i dont know if its cheaper to buy new front rotors instead of having them removed and resurfaced to get rid of the grooves. i think i still gotta take the car in and get the calipers checked out.
