Selling R and GSR for an 06 Type S
I'll be selling my Gsr her very soon. I also really like what styling changes acura made to the 05-06 type S. But I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. The R stays parked most of the time, so I'd like more of a daily driver. Opinions? Commetns? Am I crazy for wanting a type S over a type R????
If you're not tracking your R, then the Type S would make a better car for you. You can make it quicker in a straight line, also, but the Type S will not be as exciting to drive than the R. At least that was my experience.

I can vouch for that.
It is really up to you. You want to something to drive around then get the S. If you really want the enjoyment of vtec and the handling of a well balanced car keep the R

But not anyone can keep their Type R from getting stolen
.
The R is a more engaging car than the RSX but just the hassle of having to worry about theft makes it a rather unattractive option as a daily driver. Maybe if you don't live in, or within an hour or so of a big city it'd be ok.

Definitely keep the Type R. I see '05+ models popping up all over the place. Rarely will you see a Type R driving around. I like the untamed characteristics of the R as compared to the new Type S. Yes, the Type S is fast, but in my opinion, it's not at all a challenge behind the wheel.

I believe it is becasue its a newer sports car and the replacement price of the RSX is at least $5000 more than a used 98 ITR.

I agree. I drove a 2006 Civic Si this weekend and it was almost as fast as the R. It also dynoed 190 hp to the wheels on a Dynapak. With some mods it will probably come close to beating the R in a straight line. I love the 6 speed LSD tranny! Also, it comes with a shift light but the light is pretty lame.

That's subjective though. IMO all RSXes are ugly as sin, have shitty interiors and are more boring than my town car to drive.
The new Si isn't a great looking car, but if it's fun to drive does it matter?

This question comes up about every other month. If you gotta daily drive the ITR, it's not worth it.
The RSX-S is a much nicer daily driver in terms of comfort, can make more power and doesn't have the theft issues. Do a few suspension mods and the RSX then becomes fun to drive. No, it will never be as raw as the R or as fun to drive at 10/10ths, but it's a daily street driver...who cares?
I would not own an R if I had to daily drive it, period. It's just not worth the mental anguish.
And FWIW, I think the RSX's styling is better than the 3rd gen Integra.

the wait wont be worth it because there's no room for anything in the bay, it looks like a saturn merged with a tc, its heavier than the type s, the speedometer skips numbers..
a type s with lsd... would be just as good as an si. if not better
