Has anyone broken their oil pump gear this season at the track?
Have any racers broken their oil pump gears racing this 2005 race season? I would like to have NHRA revisit the Dry Sump topic for the 2006 season in SFWD.

i think ballard had a problem earlier in the season i could be wrong though. i dont seem wha tthe harm is in goin dry sumps for sfwd is just make the people running them run a diaper

i ran 75k miles on my pro drive oil pump gear last few years....this is going to sound bad but i honestly can't remember if i swapped the gears into my motor this year or not. i started puting the motor in my car at 4:30am the morning of the MIR nopi race....put it on the dyno at 7am...made 3 pass's on the dyno on an engine managment ive never tuned before...put it on the trailor, went to mir, and my first pass down the track was a 10.7. i put the car together as a daily driver, but with how well that went under the circumstances i decided to start going to some more events.
i would assume clean up has nothing to do with the dry sumps. just the fact that its a street class and i dont know a single person who has a dry sump on the street. plus i'd imagine its an attempt to keep the power levels down a little bit, and keep the rpm's down a little bit as well. im running out of room under the hood. and def. money!! just make low power, rev low, and go slow like me and you will be fine..hahaha j/k
and no i never sleep. i went to bed at 5am and got up at 7am. sucks ***.

check that out. all cars im in the market for hahaha. thats awesome though, i never knew that. i try to pay no attention to cars like that because i like them too much and i know i can't affored them, so i try to save myself from the depression hahaha.
i ate a oil pump this past week end and am seriously considering externall now even thought the car was shut down in time (not to much damage) but its just a nuisence what you have to go through whenn it happens
They could allow a Dry-Sump without a Vacuum Section. So no pulling vacuum...
I don't know why tho...Most Domestic Street Classes allow a Vacuum Pump but no Dry Sump. Even those guys think it's a stupid rule tho...There's still a limit on how high everyone will rev their stuff.
Maybe just allow an External Wet Sump...
