the motor is obd0 and the wiring in the car now is obd1(really f***ed up), i have a complete swap ready for the transplant(which is obd0) and i have both ecus and both o2 censors but i want to know which would be the easiest just fixing the obd1 harness and buying a dizzy or just rewire the wiring and go obd0

WOW I'm sorry for you.
Can you take some pics of the wiring and post them? I may be able to help you.

I would honestly say, if it RAN before as OBD1. I would actually try using the hackjob. Clean it up where you can, remove all butt connectors and re-solder the connections with heatshrink and loom.
Get an OBD1 LS ECU, OBD1 distributor, and you should be able to get it started.

What did they do for the dash/gauge cluster wiring if they used an entire OBD1 chassis harness?!?!?

If it does run like that and you resolve any codes, then I can repair the engine harness if it has firewall connection.
I can't take on a repair job like that unless i know the wires are in the right positions to run the engine. Otherwise, whats the point in cleaning it up.. ya know?

well i think i want to go obd1 but i was talkin to the guy who i bought the car from and he said it throws check engine codes, so im gonna just wire the car for obd0 for right now and then later when i get the obd1 dizzy i convert it over and hopefully get it running good
