from my understanding, vtec on a gsr hits a 4400 rpm and iab open up at 5800 rpm. then i heard the opposite, iabs open up at 4400 and vtec hits at 5800. can someone please clear this up?
vtec engages at 4400rpm and the iab i think open at 5795rpm i think im not sure but its not a completely even number in the hundreds. The reason you friend or whoever thinks that vtec hits later is because you don't feel any pull untill the iab's open. That mad Vtec yo

thats what i thought. yeah there is no complete number. i was just rounding off the numbers. also i bought a chipped ecu and i don't feel vtec kicking in around the setting that its suppost to be like arond 45 i believe. i do feel something around 58 tho. so i'm thinking that i have a sohc vtec ecu. i don't throw any codes tho.

You can tell what type of ecu you have by looking at the serial number.

right now i have the stock p72 obd 1. on the chipped ecu there is not serial number because they take it off when they chipped it. i tried to figure out what ecu it was.
