WHat do you think I should pay for this car (there's no way in hell am I paying $23k for this car, I"d rather get an 06 RSX S). http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/...=1535

The car is basicly brand new. I've never seen a cleaner car/engine bay. It looks factory still.

Just trying to justify the price tag.

But your right, I personally would go with something else for the money

that is a beautiful R with low mileage. a potential buyer with high standards and discriminating tastes would be keen to pick this up, i would. what amazes me is there are still itrs left out there that look like this even after five years. when you consider theft, crashes and just normal wear and tear, Rs like this one condition-wise are soon to be a distant memory.

leave this for someone who knows what it is and understands the price. go get your rsx.

Yeah, this is definately one of the cleanest ITR I've ever seen for sale-actually it IS the best one I've seen.

But the car is outdated a bit, that engine (b18c) has been around for nearly a decade. And the S has more potential (kseries). I'm considering an S or the R, the only reason I would go for an R is if I can get a good deal on a low mileage one (under 30k only)...but 23k is just way too much for a car I can't drive during the winter. I live in Minnesota so its snows alot. NOt only that, if theft weren't an issue I'd get it, that plus paranoia does not warrant $23k....but so tempting...................I know I'll never find one in this condition ever again

You want an ITR to say you have ITR or to AutoX..... your 06 S won't keep up with my 97R in the twisties.....

I'd knew I'd get fanboys response eventually, the ITR isn't sent from heaven people. $20k would be a more reasonable price-I dont' care how rare it is. I guess this is what I get for posting in an ITR forum

I"m was hoping for more objective opinions from those who were in my shoes before, given the avaible cars out there for the same price. THe ITR was GOOD back in the late 90's but technology has caught up to it....that's why I can't justify 23k (theft, insurance, paranoia, only get to drive it 5 months cuz of snow, etc).....

Anyhow, I"ve made up my mind...gettin'g the S.

Dude the question is what do you want this car for..... do you want to autocross you want to drag or just show to your friends and drive around..... your the only one that mentioned rarity..... that $23k ITR is practically as new as your 06 RSX.... you just need to decide what is right for you...

So by this reasoning, you would not buy a 53 Vette or a 64.5 Mustang, How about a 54 Gulwing?

Silly people.

Glad you have made up your mind. I was in your shoes three months ago when I got mine. I didn't have $23k to spend on a mint R. I did want a car I could play around with, not necessarilly and ITR.... I looked at used S's, neighbor has an SI i've driven a lot..... weighed the options and get the R..... good luck with your new car.....

Then quit complaining then, and get yourself a type-s. It sounds like you know what you want already so just do it.

so for this particular itr, you are going to either buy it or not over a measly $3K????

you have to put into context my friend. yes, $3K is a lot of money. if there were 10 of them in a row at the dealership, i would side with you. but fastforward to 5 years, look at what the itr has withstood, how many are left and not to mention the "mystique" about it which is a DIRECT influence on its price value (ask those who had it stolen and payed off handsomely by insurance), you are really missing something if you are focused on the $3K. i happily pissed away $3k in parts alone in the last few months. you wont even see it when you're driving what you really want...unless you really want that rsx.

it just sounds like you're making excuses NOT to buy the R, but you've come to the wrong place imho if you want support for those excuses. some of the most astute itr owners and followers are on HT, and will challenge your opinion with honest insight. good luck.

I know what the car is, I love my 1997 ITR and wouldn't trade my R for any other car in the world, but I'd still offer $20,000. I think $23,000 is a bit much for a 4 yr. old $25,000 car regardless of the mileage.

Just my honest opinion.

One day I'd love to own an R in that kind of condition. Probably a 97R.

23k??

put less than half that down on a g35.
more torque, power, rwd, creature comforts and higher pimp factor.

Its all about what someone is willing to pay for the car..

but paint my lip and give me some new seats and my R looks like that one, only mine has 98,000 miles and has been enjoyed

How many Type-R's do I see on the road? Not that many. I will probaly see maybe one a month.

How many G35's do I see on the road? Well, a whole lot more than Type-R's thats for sure. I see them on the road like every single day.

Im a Type R presever trying to keep the species from being extinct.

And if you want to be a pimp go pop your collar somewhere else.
