Default H22 time?

so about two weeks ago i bought a '92 prelude si off ebay, after i got in a wreck with my accord, and last week i brought it in to be inspected. the only problems i've had with it was that it occasionally had trouble starting up and the CEL would turn on for the EGR valve after driving a while. after the people at honda looked at it they told me that i pretty much need a new engine (the compression was really low and would be cheaper than troubleshooting). i'm not really a mechanic, but it looks like i've pretty much got 4 choices:
swap it out with an H22
replace it with another H23
replace it with the f22 from my accord
or try to fix the engine i have.

If anyone can help me out with this decision, i'd REALLY appreciate it

Two suggestions:

JDM H22

or

F22 + Boost

i'd like to keep it under 4K if i can...i'd prefer to go as cheap as possible, but if an h22's worth the extra money, i was thinkin that would be the way to go. at hmotorsonline, the price diff doesnt look that bad, and i need a new clutch neway...thanks for your input

Well, it depends on what you want also...

I, for one, would boost your f22. You already have a motor that can tolerate boost well, then you can spend your money on a killer boost setup. However, if all out reliability is what you want, then i would suggest the h22 w/ LSD.

Power or reliability, those are my .02.

You will save about $300/yr on gas with an F22 over an H22. You can figure out a more exact estimate on http://www.fueleconomy.gov.

I would boost the H23 or F22; or you could do a F22 block w/ h23 head N/A setup with H22 cams. That would have more torque than the h22.
