Default Has anyone tried this head/block/gasket combination?

Has anyone ever tried to mate a b18c1 head on to a b18c5 block (usdm) with a 2 layer head gasket? What if the head is milled .012"?

But...why? And if it's "to be different"

You should have no problems , a friend of mine has a B18C5 head on a B18C1 block and he didn`t had any problems , so you should be fine .

Straighter shot for incoming air/ fuel (stock), and raises compression due to smaller combustion chamber.....

Straighter shot? Are the intake ports straighter or something?

How about that, I never knew that. I was under the assumption the GSR head was inferior to the ITR/B16 head. on me for being a jerk then.

There will be no problems, it's been done numerous times in the past with much more milling.

The head is fully reworked. From c-speed, i'm getting around a 11.4 ish CR. So exactly how much more could you go? I doubt I would mill the head more, but I'm just curious. I was under the impression that combination would be getting extremely close.

I'll remember that. I must've been getting something screwed up in the ol' memory bank there. Maybe potential for machining/porting/polishing?

.....fully ported/ polished, etc there really isn't much of a difference.

fwiw, most of the pro guys use b16/ itr head..... but erick aguilar was using a gsr head iirc for a while..... with a majorly hogged out gsr IM.....

Clay, who said anything about clay? Bitch you playing with Playdough?

I vote for checking clearances yourself for your particular setup.

How exactly is the PR3 combustion chamber>P72? The P72 has .2 higher compression hence more power potential. I do agree with your other point.

As for clearance issues with stock ITR cams i'm sure he'll be fine. If he decides to switch to Jun or Toda cam's i'd definitely check the clearances.
