Default taking tarnish off Stainless headers..

i tried a search.. no luck.. anyone have any idears?

got a stainless header that i want to pretty up.. any ideas?.. why cant they just stay blue and gold!

I think i remeber mention of oven cleaner?

I polished with wheel cleaner.. then polished and polished and polished to no avail.

I'd kind of like to know. But it's not that big a deal. The header still performs great. The only part that looks bad on mine is around where it connects to the cat.

acutally, there was something in the integra forum... dont remember exactly, but i think he used some kind of wheel polish... u can snoop around in there and u may find it...

I recently did mine, used a metal polish called Flitz. You can get it at any marine store (West Marine, etc)

came out nice and you don't need much of it.

that and #0000000 steel wool...probably a few too many 00's in there, but you get the idea

Just use WENOL metal polish and a rag - it can get most (even burned in fingerprints) off a SS header.

Blue Coral also makes a motorcycle header cleaner that is a powder polish that works well.

Walmart, PepBoys or Sears should have it.

Look in the silverware area (it's a multipurpose metal polish) or the kitchen cleaning supplies area.

Eagle One Never Dull Polishing Wad and then maybe some Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish

thanks guys...i should be getting a jdm 4-1 soon and its rusted all to hell..ill see what i can do with some polish..
