I searched first... But found nothing that sounds like my problem... This is for my buddies car... I can't believe I can't figure it out!!!!!
the car : 99 integra GSR
Problem: all exterior lights work BUT the brake lights
The only thing I can think off would be the brake switch, but he said all he did was change the tail lights themselves... The plugs are all plugged in and the fuses all SEEM to be fine... I don't see anything that says BRAKE LIGHTS on the fuse cover ( don't know if there is one ) But we also checked the bulbs and they are fine as well.... What else is there to check? and how do you check the brake switch?
TIA
shane

The fuse may have blown. It should be in the drivers side lower dash labeled STOP and it may say light too. If the fuse is good then the brake switch is the next place to look, but it's too much of a coincidence that he just changed the bulb and they stopped working. You sure the bulbs are the righ ones?

There wasn't anything that said stop or anything like it... The closest would be "tailllights" but that was good.... And he didn't change the bulbs, he changed the assembly.... I even tried one of my own bulbs which i KNOW is good and still nothing, only the "running" lights... thanks again... how can I check the brake switch? TIA again...

Look at all the grounds in the tail lights, i bet you one or more is rusty/corroded every car I've seen that had a brake light problem was almost always a bad ground.
