Honda Prelude All Model Preludes

H23 Stuff W/ H22 Stuff??

Default H23 Stuff W/ H22 Stuff??

alright well a buddy of mine asked me a question today and i didnt know the exactly answer so I will ask you guys.

He has an H22 block with an H23 Crank and H23 Rods with Type s OS pistons

he told me that the pistons sit over the top of the block a little bit (havent seen it myself) and he is worried about valve clearance? can anyone help him out?

Someone correct me if im wrong but... The h23 has a longer stroke hence the piston will go down further and come up further and since instead using h23 pistons he used slighty taller h22 type-s pistons they will sit out a little bit not much. As far as valve clearences i dont see any problem they dont stick out far enough but again someone correct me if im wrong.

I'm pretty sure just the dome sticks out of the block..

yea thats what i meant someone on another honda site had a picutre of it i cant remember which site if i find it ill post up some pics.

he wont have any clearances with stock cams...with stage 2's or 3's there might be some issues.....

yea that sounds right he 95aord what stage cams are u running??

this is a friend of mines motor and i think he is running stage 1 cams

ok then yea. he should be fine and shouldnt have any issues.

^^ he knows this because he has measured your friends cams, knows that he had appropriately stiff valve springs....and knows that he hasnt milled the head excessively....

you can see how we like this guy a lot around here....hes full of great info....

clay the motor, otherwise its all just guesswork with what kind've clearances you will have.
