I am replacing my passenger side axle halfshaft this weekend on my 92 gsr. i was looking in my helms and it mentions a set-ring that has to go over the threads that go into the tranny. i was wondering if i need to buy a new one from the dealer, or can just reuse the one that is on there now?

 

most of them you buy already have them on there

 

it should come with one on it. if it does not be careful and reuse your old one.
its a spring dosent go bad very often. whent it goes bad it breaks easy and really wont hurt anything( the axle wont fall out if thats what you are worried about

 

oh, i didn't even look to see if it came with it. i got it from advance auto parts. it's the GKC one. i think autozone sells the same model. has anyone got this and know if it comes with the ring already?

AutoZone's rebuilt axles are CCT brand, they are crap but they come w/ the set ring.

i think they all come with it if not reused the one u have.

i didn't get a rebuilt one. i got a new one. plus it has a lifetime warrenty. and it's GKC that i got, not CCT brand.
