I don't know anything in particular about that specific converter, but the price seems about right. Factory converters can range from 400-1100 bucks. It's not because there are super high performance, it is because they contain precious metals, like platnium, palladium.... etc. The only way for a converter to be cheap is to contain less of these metals, which will shorten the life of the converter in the long run. However, the factory ones are pretty rediculously high priced even considering the content.

Some of the reasons are that they do have less metal in them, and that they are universal. You get about the same part for a civic that you would for a neon.... mass production means cheaper production costs. OEM converters are different depending on medel, engine, etc.... and will cost more.

OEM is ceramic core, don't konw what kinda metal you all talking about.

the reason random tech is kinda on the expensive side because you can have a high flow cat that is still effiecent enough to not set off the CEL.
Dont quote me on this because i never use RT's cat before.

Straight pipe, high flow most of the time only have a baffle area for sound reduction, which have no emission reduction material.

just stick W/ OEM, unless you have a turbo motor, the cat would be my last bolt on if i have running mildly tune NA.

The metals he's talking about are the catalyst in the catalytic convertor that reduce the emissions. ceramic is inert to these gasses and holds up extremely well to the heat and is used to support the catalyst metals. Did you sleep through chemistry?

I know this is not about the eBay cats, however how is the headers that they sell on eBay? Anyone one buy-em or know anything about em? I have to replace my entire system from the manifold back. So I am looking to spend as little as possible.

Thanks for the info...................

as for headers and exhaust i do know that u get what u pay for. not only that but my friend had obx headers. what we thought was a reputable brand turned out to be a p.o.s. u get what u pay for...if u wanna pay twice for the cheap **** go ahead but as for me id rather pay once and get quality like dc. as for exhaust u have some more options, what specifically are u lookin for?

"you get what you pay for" applies to everything car related.

I've heard about some random-tech cats dying.
