Default URGENT HELP: Brake conversion GSR to EK civic.

hey guys,

im currently doing a EK Drum rear to a GSR Disc Rear brake conversion,

im having a hard time trying to remove the rear caliper from the trailing arm/disc/caliper setup...

i want to remove the disc, so i can have it machined/skimmed before i fit the whole lot up,

please helpppp... ive search thru the FAQ's, can only find help on front disc removal, i thought the rear was as easy as the fronts, but im having alot of trouble...

cheers, ant.

Ok, so you're trying to remove the rear caliper from the donor trailing arm, right? You need to remove the shield, then it should be 2 bolts and the whole assembly comes off. Make sure the caliper isn't clamped down to the rotor or anything...

You are going to need an impact driver to remove those two little philips head screws on the rotor. They are tough little suckers and the impact driver is the best tool for the job. Take off those two little screws and the rotor will come off

ok... ive used wd-40... ive removed the 2 screws, but the dsc just wont budge...

is there any other way i can go about removing these disc?!

basically all the treads ive found, they say pull off the screws and you should be set, but not in my case haha...

just a note, the 2 small screws werent that bad to remove, i just used a regular phillips, weird.

remember the trailing arm isnt on the car yet...!!
