Default Oil consumption in engine B18C5 ?

Hi,

During hard driving like 600 miles, how´s the oil consumption on a B18C5 engine ?

How many miles do you a think a ITR can take without oil ?

I found that i drove hard my ITR with 10% oil in the engine for 100 miles.

Wow, that's not good. I've not seen any consumption from my car. I don't drive it really hard, but the most it's ever been down when I changed the oil is 0.5 a quart.

Do a search! This has been covered many times!!!

Oil consumption is a fairly common occurence with the B18C5 and many of us burn a quart or so per oil change. As mentioned above, check your oil!!! I usually check it every time I wash the car (every 1-2 weeks).

When I changed my oil(around every 3500~4000miles) a little over three quarts drain out. I just changed the oil on my friends 2000 GSR, only three quarts came out of his car. Hope that helps.

A little more then half a quart is in the filter when you change you oil, so add that. Also quit wasteing you money on mobile1.(IMO) Switch to GTX, change every 2K-2.5K and in my expirence, you'll burn less dino oil then synthetic. I burnt less then a quarter quart in 2k including a weekend at VIR.

I'm surprised you didn't notice the low oil level...if it is too low, VTEC does not function properly. It will be intermittent/cut in and out.

I had that happen, it isn't pretty when vtec cuts in/out.
checked the oil and it was LOW... added 3 litres.

after that happened I now check it weekly, I still find that it goes through about 1-2 L/month.

I've seen the performance difference of synthetics over conventional oils. As for the consumption rate, my car doesn't consume either one. I'll stick with my synthetics.
