Cat Back Installation
I am trying to put a full section on my 96 LS but i cant seem to get the stock piping fully off. Please give me tips on how to remove the o2 sensor off the cat. I need to take the o2 sensor off the cat because its the last thing holding my exhaust on. Thanks.
Is it too tight or something? I believe it's a 19mm open ended wrench that you will need. If you need some leverage on it, put a pipe on the end of it.
If it's still too tight (don't put TOO much pressure on it), try putting some penetrating fluid such as (Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster, WD-40, etc) on it. Then give it another try. You could also put a torch to it for a little to heat it up. Just be careful not to burn yourself.

Did you try any penetrating liquid? They work well on rusted bolts. Is the wrench you are using stripping it? Or can you not move it at all? Put a pipe on the end of it, you need more leverage.
If not, you have to use a torch. Worst case scenario, you snap the bolt. Then you just drill it out.

I am assuming you loosened the 2 spring bolts from the front of the cat, instead of removing the 3 bolts on the flange from the piping to the cat? If so, then you don't need a socket to remove the o2, just unplug the o2 from the wire (you need to get your head in there to get a good view, because I think there is a little clip that you need to push in, while also pulling out the wire). Or, you can do like shorto85 said and get one of the o2 sensor sockets (get the offset one for a 1/2" drive for your breaker bar), works like a charm.

Which bolts are you talking about here? the flange bolts? the spring bolts on the other side?
