car too low to be aligned
took it to get align and dude said it was too low. he said the front bumper is blocking the wheel thing they put on. so im thinking ill just take the bumper off and get it aligned.. any of you guys run into this kinda problem? i rather not take my bumper off. because the place i went to was cheap and the technician scrape my **** when he took it off the machine he didnt even know how to angle the car. almost broke my bumper. but its all good i kicked it back into place. so anyways, what should i do?
Your car must be really low, we align lowered cars all the time with out a problem. If you have coilovers you could raise the car up. Mine is down 1.7 all the way around with 50 series 16's and I don't have a problem at all
yeah but if u raise it to get it aligned..what about after u drop it back down after the alignment?
i've had this problem too..that's why i haven't gotten mine aligned yet. something u can do but will take a long time is raise it enough to get on the lift and drop it back down to where u want it when its on the lift. or find a drop in...or put boards in front of the lift

As long as were not talking about 3-4 inches you can raise your car to align it then lower it back down. I do it all the time on the club racer porsches we do
I had that issue with the rack that I used to use at my old job however I just didnt pull the car all the way forward and it worked fine that way.
I aligned my car that way and never had any tire wear issues. I also had to use boards to get my car on and off of our rack as well.

just remove your front bumper. if you raise to get it aligned, it won't be aligned when you lower it :\

My last car was damn low and the wheel alignment place had to use extra long ramps just to get the car up on the ramp for setting the alignment, but i cant figure out what the bumper has got to do with fitting the levels on the wheels, they attach to the wheels and stick out from the wheel so how can a bumper get in the way. I think theyre shitting you as they probably dont want the bother of getting the car up onto the ramp in the first place. If that is the case then just take the bumper off and get the alignment done.

I'll tell you this. I have a 96 Civic Sedan, with 16s and 205/40/16 tires. The guy told me that if I had 17s, he couldn't align the car.
don't raise your coilovers up to get it aligned and raising it back down after...it will just mess up the alignment again...just find a alignment shop that has a alignment pit...their racks are in a pit so they can align it easier...i had mines done at Big-O-tires for around 100 bucks...
