I'll be the first to say that I am in love with JVC's Arsenal series.
Bought the AR-3000 for myself and an AR860 for my wife and we love them.

Um...had no probs with my wood...as in Kenwood. Formerly an Eclipse and Sony owner, both were good for 3 yrs or so, and both started to have probs reading discs. Love the ability of Kenwood to interface with Phat product...
Has 5v outputs, nice liteshow that I can't care less about, and sounds fine.

Alpine f-1 series... with Rainbow Audio Reference series components.I love my Eclipse CD8443. You can practically shatter a cd, glue it back together, and this deck would play it skip free. Awesome lasers, awesome EQ adjust-ability, and 8 volts to each pair of RCA's. The most solid deck made in my opinion.
