Default Losing rmp's in 5th gear

I just got a hatch and recently driven on the highway and it seems like I am losing my 5th gear or something. Somtimes when I go into 5th gear it starts losing power and sometimes it is fine.

It does not seem like it. When I shift into the other gears it does not do that. Could be though has about 170k miles on it.

that happens the same to me.. clutch is sleeping... i have to put on 4th gear sometimes to get some speed.. if u wana check if its the clutch.. push it to 4-5 thousand rpm and release the clutch.. if u got some spinning on tires u good w. the clutch... if u just hear reving on the engine and u goin no where.. the clutch is going bad..

go 20mph put it into 5th gear and floor it. of the RPM's raise but the speed remains the same its slipping

launching is a horrible way to check for slippage.
