Default tranny blew a hole

My tranny recently just blew a big gapping hole in it after having my new bored h23a engine installed. THe mechanic said he needed to replace the shifter cable for my automatic tranny. THat same day as I was driving I heard a loud pop and all the fluid from my tranny drained out. He said that I did that. Is this even possible with an automatic tranny? And no I was not reving the engine up and dropping it into drive as the mechanic thought. Is it sound like my fault or the mechanics? Tranny has about 167,000 miles.

Well if it was fine before, and screwed after he worked on it - that should pretty much tell you right there.

The problem is proving it to anybody who gives a **** and/or can do anything about it.

He probably did something whild messing with the cable to get more money out of you. But like said before how are you going to prove it, unless you know of a good shop that can help you out.

There is really no way for the mechanic to "messup" the tranny just by swaping an engine in though.. I think it was going downhill anyways..
