Default Cost of B16A2

I recently spun a bearing in my 2000 ex. I was quoted 3g's to put a used d16 back in. This is just the head and block too not even a new trans. I have a guy in town selling a b16A2 complete swap. It has everything i will need to drop it in. So my question is....he is asking $2000 for it. Is this a reasonable price, high or a steal? I have looked at some sites as to the prices of B16 swaps but the price range is to wide to determine. I am not sure of the miles on the engine as of this morning but should know by the end of the day.

Check out this thread.

$2000 sounds about right for a B16A2, but make sure of the mileage first. $3000 total for a used D is a rip. You could always get a JDM B16A and get it coverted to OBD2 and pop it in and it will be cheaper.

It all depends on the millage, did he pull it out of a car or was it a swap he purchased online and never used?..... lets say he bought it for 2500$ with 60k on it put it in his car beat on it for a year and a half while putting about 15k on it.... if that was the case i would say i dont think i would buy it if the millage was high... Also ask if it had a compression test.. that will tell you how good the engine is and if and how much you should pay.

I know he has had it in the car for a while. It was a swapped he installed. At one point it was turbo charged and running 12's maybe even 11's i dont remember.

That sounds about right for a b16a2. $3000 for a D series is a joke.
