S2000 weak differential?
I am looking at possibly getting a s2k, but I am currious about the rear differential. I was talking to one owner of an S and he had stated that overall the diff. is weak and will be prone to breaking under high horsepower applications. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hearing **** through the grapevines again?
To be more specific, it's not the diff, its the diff housing that gives. The load forces the diff to push on the side bearings, and the bearing support is what gives.

I know the diff housing isn't the best but I believe diff's breaking is more the driver's fault than anything else. I have put mine through lots of roadracing and some launches, no problems. There are 2 HT S2K owners with 600+ hp and running stock diff's. They have had countless launches at the drag strip and street, their diff's are still intact. Most of the time I hear about a diff breaking, its usually "I was street racing or at the dragstrip, now it makes weird noises coming from the back." What does that tell you?
Oh ok I get it now.
Nishant: That the ******* beat their car like its a Mustang. I don't really even launch, stupid clutch slave cylinder delay smokes the clutch. Even my only time down the 1/4 was with a 4k ease-drop. Still got me 14.23

Yea, you have the nice gears and the unobtrusive clutch cylinder. I wish I could get under 14s, but I might hurt it. The AP1/F22 does 13.8-9 all day if shifted at 8400.
