starting my ls/vtec build...replace or use the stock bearings?
Hey guys, after months of searching I came across a nice b18a motor that I'm currently stripping down and will be taking it to school to have it honed and hot tanked.
My main question is the crank bearings and rod bearings that I have with the motor currently, should I just re-use them? I've heard that it's possible and if they are in good condition they will work just fine but want to double check.
Can't wait for this to be done

If the mains look ok, you can re use them. As far a s the rod bearings go, get a set of b16a bearings from honda in the correct color, as they are a tri metal bearing and can take alot more abuse than the bi metal pr4 rod bearings

Thanks for your response. B16a rod bearings will work with LS rods? never heard of that combination in the past

P72/3 are different. b16/B18a/B can be interchanged ..

you can also use the factory coated gsr/itr rod bearings on the ls rods, you just need to get the rods re notched to run them, they are excellent bearings, and you will make a little more power due to less drag, but the b16a's will be fine though
