I just put a new clutch in my 94 del sol.. its a jdm b16a engine.. when i speed shift it the rpms shoot up but it doesnt feel like i am catching or spinning.. i cant tell if my tires are so bald they are just spinning or if it's the clutch.

If it is the clutch, what could be causing this? It's a brand new stock clutch... it feels really soft on the pedal.

Did you break it in first?

it might just need some break in, or it could be your master/slave cylinder going/leaking

does it grind or have trouble going in gear and does the pedal stay on the floor or come up slowly? if so its prolly the cylinders

otherwise its prolly just breakin, you need to drive 300-400miles stop and go to break in a clutch, or at least thats what my clutch said

 

the person's dad who was helping me swap in my motor had to take apart my slave cylinder and get rust out of it and he said that i would probably need a new one so could that be the problem? thanks.

 

i could be either the master or the slave, they both go on hondas, you might as well replace both, also before you do that check the clutch fluid level..
